“Realizing that you were ransomed from your futile conduct … not with perishable things like silver orgold, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ as of a spotless, unblemished lamb.” (1Peter 1:18)
“Since you have purified yourselves by obedience to the truth, for sincere mutual love, love one another intensely from a pure heart.” (1 Peter 1:22)
Recognizing the mercy shown to us by Christ’s death on the cross, we want to grow deeper in love with Him. Seeing Mary as the one closest to the sacrificial Lamb, we wish to be united with her heart, so that we may suffer ‘intensely’ for love of Christ and one another.
“Rid yourselves of all malice and deceit, insincerity, envy and all slander.” (1 Peter 2:1)
Within the Love of the Lamb family, we will do our best to be sisters in Christ, through humility, genuineness and unconditional love. By trusting and being committed to each other, we will bear one another up, bringing joy and laughter into each other’s lives. While striving towards individual holiness, we will encourage and strengthen each other on the path to sainthood. Each member is expected to show respect for her sisters by fulfilling all commitments and striving to live according to our covenant.
“They stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and is from the Lamb.’ These are the ones who have survived the time of great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason, they stand before God’s throne, and worship Him day and night in His temple … For the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of life-giving water, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation7:9, 10, 14-17)
Household Prayer
Precious Jesus, Lamb of God, I come asking You to draw me and all the members of Love of the Lamb closer to Yourself this day. I pray that You will keep us far from sin and enable us to live by obedience to the Truth. Purify us, Lord, that we may ‘love one another intensely from a pure heart.’ (1 Pet 1:22) By the mercy and love poured out at Your death on the cross, transform our hearts, and make us grow deeper in love with You.
Help us to live true sisterhood in humility, genuineness, and unconditional love. Teach us to trust You with total abandonment, and, as sisters, to trust one another. We need Your grace to be fully committed to our covenant. Help us to bear one another up and call each other on in charity. Give us perseverance as we strive for holiness and challenge each other on the path to sainthood. May we imitate our mother, Mary, in respect for ourselves and others, living lives of modesty, chastity, and purity. Bring us to eternal life with You, and may our lives be shining examples to draw others to Heaven.
I pray for our advisors, for all my sisters, for all the Lambs of the past, and for all those intending to join, that we will be molded according to Your will for our lives. We ask this … all for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, in union with St. Joseph. Amen.
