Magnifica Amorem Christi – Women’s Household

Magnify the Love of Christ

We are a sisterhood of women who are striving to live our lives as magnifiers of the great healing love of Christ. We foster a deep, abiding healing in our lives and then allow this healing love of Christ to overflow into intercession for others.

We seek healing as the integration of mind, body, and spirit, of each sister moving towards and glorifying Him with her whole being. We seek not to erase or deny our wounds but to invite Him to dwell within them. This allows us to magnify His Love, unimpeded by fear, as we step forward into the joyful battle of life.

This is shown in our logo, a symbol of each sister’s heart. Christ is entangled deeply in what is simultaneously the veins of the heart, the roots of the flowers, or the cracks of our wounds; He is our life-blood, our nourishment, and the glory of our wounds. The burst of flowers symbolizes the overflowing and magnifying of His love in intercession and encounter. The yellow roses, symbols of friendship, are specifically for this intimate and healing sisterhood, which we now take on.

This is our mission, to be embodied vessels of His compassion, which we pursue through a firm foundation of our four charisms.

Childlike Joy: we believe that manifesting the joy of a child magnifies the beauty in any word, deed, and prayer. We strive to see beauty in and delight in every aspect of God’s creation. We take Blessed Chiara Luce Badano as our patroness in this charism, as she showed a passionate and simple joy amidst great suffering.

Simplicity: we find simplicity, in its honesty, straightforwardness, and humility, to be vital in our relationships with God and with others. In relationship and work, simplicity minimizes our control and allows Him to do His work in and through us. We take St. Bernadette Soubirous as our patroness in this charism, as her simplicity of faith and humility led to great healing at Lourdes.

Cherishing Compassion: by cherishing and treasuring every single person as a dearly beloved and irreplaceable child of God, we strive to allow His compassion and love to work in us. We take St. Teresa of Calcutta as our patroness in this charism, as she cherished everyone she met with a great love and compassion.

Constant Prayer: we foster a deep internal attitude of prayer, so each moment, each action becomes a prayer. Through this, we allow Him to show Himself through us in every interaction. We take Our Lady Undoer of Knots as our patroness in this charism, as she teaches us to ponder in our hearts and draws us towards healing by undoing the knots in our lives and hearts.
