Servants of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus – Women’s Household

Nourished by the Eucharist and encouraged by our Mother Mary, we are able to serve Christ in our brothers and sisters.

The Eucharist is the true Body of Christ which He gave for the life of the world (John 6:55).  It is our risen Lord, yet contains all the love for sinners which caused Jesus great agony at the Garden of Gethsemane and was poured out for us on Calvary.  As Servants of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, we are called to claim the victory of the cross by uniting our lives to the Eucharist. When we encounter Christ in the Eucharist, we must empty ourselves.  Only then can the Lord come and be adored upon the altar of our hearts.  Through this adoration, we are empowered to bring those souls most in need of Christ’s abundant mercy to His Eucharistic Heart.  Thus, through lively faith and fervent intercession we console the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus and in turn Christ’s graces will infuse and radiate our lives and those of our brothers and sisters who also make up the body of Christ.

As Servants of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, we must imitate Mary, for she was the first true servant of Jesus’ Eucharistic Heart.  At the moment that Mary said to the angel Gabriel “I am the Lord’s servant, may it be done to me as you have said” (Luke 1:39-41), Jesus became incarnate in her womb.  Immediately, Mary rose and went to serve her cousin Elizabeth.  When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In Mary’s response to the angel, she exemplifies the obedience and humility toward which we as Servants strive.  Upon receiving Christ, our first action, like Mary’s, is to serve, knowing that we are instruments of His love to others.

Scriptures the Household is Founded On

1 Timothy 4:12 Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, in your conduct, in your love, in faith and in purity.

Matthew 18:15 If your sister should commit something wrong against you, go and show her her fault, just between the two of you.  If she listens to you, you have won your sister over.  But if she will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
