Jesters of YHWH
“We are fools for the sake of Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.”
“We are fools for the sake of Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.”
Adonai, all things begin in You. Pour out your spirit upon us. You are our God and we are Your people.
We, Swords of Joan, realize that although our battlefield may differ from hers, we will have courage. We will have courage when we attempt to dodge the arrows of pride intended to pierce through our armor. When the spears of deception race toward us we will remain steadfast. When the battalions of worldly extravagance rage against us, we will hold our ground.
We are a sisterhood of women who are striving to live our lives as magnifiers of the great healing love of Christ. We foster a deep, abiding healing in our lives and then allow this healing love of Christ to overflow into intercession for others.
As missionaries in Metanoia et Missa we strive to emanate love on mission, climbing the heights to sanctification. We will encounter Christ’s unconditional, radiant love in our own ongoing conversion and then be shot forth to mirror his love to all.
Our household is founded on the following call of The Father with openness to His love for us and child-like abandonment to His will. As a household, we open our hearts to the Word of God and strive to hear the Father’s call to raise us out of our sin and the dreariness induced by the seductive ways of the world.
Nourished by the Eucharist and encouraged by our Mother Mary, we are able to serve Christ in our brothers and sisters. The Eucharist is the true Body of Christ which He gave for the life of the world (John 6:55). It is our risen Lord, yet contains all the love for sinners which caused Jesus great agony at the Garden of Gethsemane and was poured out for us on Calvary. As Servants of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, we are called to claim the victory of the cross by uniting our lives to the Eucharist.
The phrase Gaudete in via Crucis—“rejoicing on the way of the cross”—embodies our household mission: to walk daily the road to Calvary, with the purpose of being united with our Blessed Mother at the foot of the cross.
As Christ’s own daughters, we strive to place our trust always in His Divine Mercy. Through the daily example of our individual lives and the life of our household, we endeavor to remind the world of the merciful love of God towards every human being.“ Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy steadfast love; according to Thy abundant mercy, blot out my transgressions.” Ps 51:1
Our Household is founded on complete surrender to Jesus through Mary. In an attempt to understand Mary’s unconditional love and the many ways in which she manifests this love, we find the Beatitudes to be the most perfect summary of our understanding.
